Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

In this area, there are two subjects available for students. They are:


Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PD/H/PE)

This involves students learning about and practising ways of maintaining active, healthy lifestyles and improving their health status. It is also involved with social and scientific understandings about movement, which lead to enhanced movement potential and appreciation of movement in their lives.


Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation

This course reinforces the importance of being active and helps to develop a repertoire of skills that will assist students to remain active throughout their lives. The course features a highly practical focus: physical activity being both an area of study and a medium of learning.


Resources include:

  • A national standard indoor gymnasium
  • A well equipped weights room including resistance equipment, free weights, and aerobic equipment.
  • Outdoor facilities including basketball, netball and volleyball courts and numerous ovals suitable for football, soccer, hockey, softball, cricket etc.
  • Access to the many facilities of our area including beaches, tennis courts, golf courses, lawn bowls, croquet.
  • Local fitness centres such as Harbord Diggers and Fitness First.
