The teaching of Creative Arts at Freshwater Senior Campus is characterised by enthusiastic, experienced staff who are practising artists in their fields. Students gain wide experience and appreciation of art, music, entertainment and drama through visits and links to local art galleries, music and drama performances.
The resources at Freshwater Senior Campus include a 250 seat performance theatre, large art studios, private music practice rooms and a state of the art photography dark room with air conditioning and air extraction.
Students are encouraged to use the extensive technology available at Freshwater to create digital media projects. Technology may be used to edit and produce videos in drama and art, create compositions using software for music and in art and photography Adobe Photoshop software is available.
Students are also encouraged to exhibit and enter into external competitions such as the State Drama festival and Rock Eisteddfod.
Drama
As part of The Creative and Performing Arts Faculty, at Freshwater Senior Campus Drama is characterised by innovative teaching practices providing opportunities for excellence in performance in theatrical design and theatre studies.
Freshwater Senior Campus provides a range of experiences involving evening Showcase drama performances; opportunities to participate in local and state drama festivals as well as excursions to provide wider theatrical experience.
Drama students, in collaboration with Music and Entertainment students, practise and perform in the campus’ state of the art 250 seat Performance Theatre with professional stage production facilities. Students also have access to a multimedia studio and editing suite.
