Special Interest Programs

Best Buddies

Intellectual disabled students are matched up with mainstream students in this most exciting program. All students have committed to the program for one school year. At least twice a month, buddies get together for meals, movies or sporting events. There are regular meetings and opportunities for buddies to develop their self esteem and confidence. Buddies are mentored and gain leadership and organisational skills.

Best Buddies is about friendship. It’s about compassion, acceptance, commitment and most importantly it’s about having fun with your friends.

GODSPEED

‘I have come so that you may have life in all its fullness’.

Many of our students are looking for answers, but perhaps are not asking the right questions.

‘What are you doing with your life?’

If your answer is – nothing, come and check out Godspeed in the Lecture Space at lunchtime on Thursdays!

We are a group of students who hang out every week. We watch DVDs, invite guest speakers, talk about issues and occasionally fill our bellies with free food!

We aim to provide a place where all students can discuss what they believe and hopefully find some of the answers they are looking for.

In 2006, Godspeed will be screening an exciting DVD series (QUEST) to help students think about where they are going and to provide an understanding of worldwide views on Christianity.

Stay alert for news on the pink sheets about Godspeed barbecues.
