Merit Award System

The achievement award system has been designed to encourage students to create balance in their lives.

Firstly, progress towards excellence is encouraged, by recognising the achievement of personal bests. In the academic sphere, the emphasis for achievement is in identifying breakdown points and changing them to personal bests. Students are encouraged to take control of their personal development, by practising the skills of resilience that are explained and reinforced in Mentoring.

The school community encourages healthy lifestyles. Participation in sport and health activities is required, to satisfy the requirements of the achievement system.

Importantly, participation in the school community is required, through participation in campus activities, to create meaningful connections and relationships within the community.

Finally, we encourage the broadening of these connections from the self to the wider world, through the development of skills and the contribution of energy, in local community, national or international projects and activities.

Students have three levels to work through before reaching the Principal’s Plaque – the pinnacle of student commitment.
